Thanksgiving is coming up on Thursday, Nov. 22, and we’re all ready for the big feast full of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. However, for those with a sweet tooth, there’s an even better part of Thanksgiving – dessert!
Thanksgiving desserts typically are full of pies in every variety, including apple, pumpkin and blueberry. Luckily for us here in South Orange, our area is full of tasty pie shops, which will certainly come in handy after you’ve already spent hours cooking Thanksgiving dinner!
If you want to keep your guests happy after the main meal is over on Thanksgiving Day, then make sure you stop by these bakeries well before the big day. Hurry though, they’re taking orders as soon as possible!
The Able Baker, located at 187 Maplewood Ave, Maplewood which is six minutes from your Gaslight Commons apartment, is a cozy bakery with a few tables, selling hand-held treats like scones and cupcakes, plus coffee and pies.
Owner Julie Pauly began her infatuation with baking at the age of 16 with a modest apple pie. Since that 1st apple pie, she’s been delighting friends and family with her baked goods from scratch at every possible turn.
Supreme Bakery, located at 40 Main St, West Orange which is nine minutes from your Gaslight Commons apartment, is a landmark bakeshop that creates custom cakes, pies, bagels, donuts and other sweet treats from morning until night.
For the past 35 years, Supreme Bakery has been owned and operated by the Stolz family. It has been their goal to serve their customers the freshest and the finest products possible, which you’ll certainly see once you taste their pies!
