These days, craft breweries are all the rage in New Jersey – brewers are experimenting with everything from hot peppers to blueberries in their beers and there is no reason to ever grab a Budweiser from the shelf anymore.
If you’re looking to check out some quality brews, take a tour of a local brewing facility or just something to do this weekend, then consider visiting these breweries located near your Gaslight Commons apartment.
Gaslight Brewery and Restaurant, a brewpub making its own beer and serving familiar pub grub in a laid-back, sports-barlike setting, may not offer tours of their brewing facility but they do offer something even better – food. The brewery, located at 15 South Orange Avenue which is about three blocks from your Gaslight Commons apartment, is currently serving their Bison Brown Ale, Perfect Stout, Pirate Pale Ale and more alongside favorites such as jumbo lump crab cakes, garlic shrimp and quesadillas.
Magnify Brewing Company, located at 1275 Bloomfield Avenue in Fairfield which is about 25 minutes from your Gaslight Commons apartment, has a tasting room that beer lovers can visit and sample craft beers from Wednesday through Sunday. Currently on tap is the Search Saison, Low Visibility Pale Ale, Vine Shine IPA and Black Wheat. Plus, Magnify is constantly brewing limited releases, so stop by to see what’s specially in stock.
Twin Elephant Brewing Company, located at 13 Watchung Avenue in Chatham which is about 15 minutes from your Gaslight Commons apartment, is open for visitors on Fridays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. They offer beers of just about every style you can think of such as stouts, wheat ales, porters, cream ales and more. Stop by to try some extremely high-quality handcrafted ales that you won’t find in just any liquor store.
